Good day folks in the 801 and other area
codes !
My oh my what a marvelous week it has been.
So exciting so much to
tell and say. Do not get depressed I promise
reading this will be
worth it :) But I must filter this email, so
I do not have to bore you
with re running my whole week and taking a
good hour of your time
reading. If u want read the 4th paragraph and
the last :)! Happy
Father's Day dad and grandpa. Also grandpa
happy birthday! 50 right ??
I love you both and look up to you as perfect
examples of how father’s
should be.
I absolutely love my mission ! I can
honestly say it has changed my
life 100%. Now a year ago if you asked me, I
would tell you I wasn't
going on a mission. And now I can tell you
that I am 100% converted to
the gospel, and that I will ALWAYS remain
temple worthy in my adult
life. I am thankful for all the prayers on my
behalf. Honestly I can
feel them everyday give me that extra boost
that keeps me motivated.
Ok so now to all the awesome stuff that
totally rocks about a mission.
Ladies and gents we have had some miracles
indeed this week ! Though
they may seem small to you they are huge to a
bunch of missionaries in
the OEM (Oregon Eugene mission). So as all of
you know I'm serving on
the beach, in a small town called Bandon! Yes
it is small and because
it is a beach resort like town, most of all
the houses are abandoned
till warmer weather. But dang that's alright
!:) So last Monday after
emailing my family and doin all the adult
things like shopping,
sending a card to my dad for Father's Day,
realizing that it was my
grandpas birthday and that I failed to send
him anything (sorry
gramps), cleaning our clothes, and cleaning
our apt, it was time for
some serious fun.
We decided our day would be best spent at the
beach enjoying the
beauty of Gods’ creation. After taking what
felt like to be bazillions
of pictures we decided to go exploring to
some caves that were exposed
due to the low tide. On this adventure I
noticed a ways off, in the
distance, something jumping off the ground
moving towards the water.
Instantly I reached into my pocket and pulled
our my camera and ran
toward this strange thing. After what felt
like years of running I
finally approached this mystic creation of
God, a unicorn!!!! Haha I'm
kiddin it was a seal pup. Cute little guy.
But the poor little bugger
had been dropped off by the high tides and
left for dead. He was in a
desperate attempt to cover 50 yards of beach
sand. It was in that
moment of time that I desperately wanted to
help this little guy, but
you cannot touch the seal pups for than the
mothers will reject them.
Wouldn't that suck, if people held other
little babies our mommies
would no longer accept us. Imagine how church
would be with this
little concept. Haha! So I decided I would encourage
him and cheer him
on in his attempt to be freed from the sand
monster. I will have you
know I was 2 seconds away from taking a
selfie with this little guy,
but decided I best not. After about 20
minutes of sincere struggle the
little guy found his way home into the sea
and was then forever lost.
Didn't even say good bye to me. Or do a flip
out of the water
exclaiming his gratitude towards us. I was
pretty bummed. I wanted to
feel like the kid on Free Wheelie. But guess
I wasn’t cool enough.
We had many other cool adventures this past
week. We had awesome
miracles of running into people that want to
know about this gospel. We
saw a 1 week old baby deer, who was stinkin
cute, high speed car
chases including 13 cop cars, trespassing on
no trespassing land (this
was a definite adrenaline rush) (pretty sure
I was running 25 mph) (I
know impossible for a man like me) heheh. I
wish this story was more
exciting but basically we heard someone
coming in a car so we just
took a mad dash to the main road. Nothing to
intense. We were able to
give some awesome blessing this week. Which
were truly from God. We
moved some people, and I guess just some
other basic missionary stuff.
So now to the good part! So earlier in the
day when you were reading
about the seal pup, I had a cool revelation
while this was going on of
how I can relate this to myself and everyone.
Alrighty then, so pretend
like you are the seal. Struggling to get back
into the waters of
eternal life. But the chains, and flaxen cord
of the beach sands/beach
monster are holding you back and down. We
must try our hardest in this
moment, when we have been lost from that
which is right, to get back
on to the right path. Now the seal pup had
made a decision. He had
made a goal that he was going to receive eternal
life in the water
that he was familiar with. In a desperate
attempt to make it to the
ocean he had his mind set. He made his goal.
And he accomplished it
with much trial, and probable doubt. But all
in all he made it. He was
triumphant in accomplishing his goal. But we
have to understand that
he did it with some moral boosts. Now I'm not
certain we helped him
that much. For all I know we were probably
scaring him into the water.
But that's not the point. In life we have
angels that look after us.
That help us in our attempts to make it back
to the iron rod, and in
the end picture, into our Father in Heavens
kingdom. These angels are
warding off the evil influence of the world.
They are destroying the
doubt that creeps into our minds. Or the
fear. All we have to do is
call upon God and they will help us shake the
chains
that bear us down. As long as we put forth
the effort. I too have
found myself like this seal through out my
life. Stuck in the sands.
Angels surrounded me. Family members
encouraged me and helped me
on the path. And I learned from this. And no
longer will I myself
stuck on the beaches. But for those of you
who find yourselves on the
sands. Wishing so badly to be saved. You must
set your mind to the
things above. Put your faith in Christ. And
his redeeming sacrifice of
the atonement. It is the simple things that
will help you. Praying
everyday. Reading your scriptures everyday.
Yes they seem so simple
yet so hard. But it is required for you to be
spiritually fed
everyday. Thank you all for the time you have
spent reading this email
:) I am loving my mission and look forward to
the day when I get to
teach my children the wonderful blessings
that come from the gospel.
Also this week we have talked a lot about
marriage and families. It's
made me flippen trunky ! So I will share a
simple fact that I'm super
excited to have children of my own and can
care and provide for them.
I also look forward to the day I am married
in the temple where the
sacred sealing powers on earth and heaven are
proven :) I close this
email to y'all :) and hope it makes sense and
doesn't sound weird :)

town is so small and we
have tracted everywhere here. So now we go
our in the woods and
boonies.
