Whispers in the Dark

My Screen Saver~
June 23, 2014

Hello, hello my fellow Americans,

If you are in a rush jump to the last paragraph :) What a beautiful
day in the neighborhood this past week has been. We have had some
pretty good miracles this last week, as we were in desperate need of
some new investigators. We did a total of 21 hours of tracting this
last week. Pretty intense week. But we were really looking for some
new people to teach. And God provided for us. We have 5 new
investigators. Folks this is almost the whole population on Bandon ;)
haha I'm kidding but it sure feels good to get rewarded and to see
Gods helping hand. And the really nice things is that all 5 of them
love to talk. Which can be good at times and bad at times. 3 of them
have already committed to baptism if we can get them to quit smoking.
And the other two just have to read the good book. That is the Book of
Mormon. The most amazing book out there ! I am going to complete my
goal of reading it in two months. I am in the beginning of Moroni and
hope to be finishing it tomorrow. Seriously how amazing is it to know
that God has provided the Book of Mormon for us and all we have to do
is read it and pray to know if it's true ! So simple.

Ok now to get into the meat of it all. God has a way to place people
in our paths so we can help them and improve their lives. This goes
for all of us. We are all chosen to help those that may find
themselves off the path. Yesterday we had a pretty neat experience. In
was about 8:40 pm and we had 20 minutes to go till we could go back to
our apt for the day. So we decided to go and take a faith walk.
Basically when it's to late or there is no one to go see you take a
faith walk in hopes that you will run into someone or something that
needs help our you can share a quick message with them.  We started
walking around the church and around the town of Bandon. When it was
8:55 we felt like it was time to start heading back to the car and go
home for the day. We decided to walk one street further, Where we
noticed a lady coming around the corner with two little babies,
bundled in blankets and jackets. I instantly knew that something
wasn't right and that we had a situation on our hands. As we
approached her we said hello and asked if there was anything we could
do for her. She started to cry and exclaimed that her husband and
brother had left hours ago and she couldn't find them anywhere but had
an idea that they were out buying drugs and she was in need for
someone to walk with her and her kids. Feeling an instant feeling of
sorrow and gratitude we decided to walk with her and cheer her up a
bit. We let her use our phone to call a nephew who could help her. She
told us many other things. She told us how she hated drugs so bad. And
how she has never done them but has caught her husband doing them many
times. She told us about how she wanted to leave her husband for
treating her the way he does. She than told us everyone in town that
was currently tweeking or buying drugs, and showed us the distribution
van. She told us that the cops are under it all and are helping the
druggies stay out of jail. It hit us hard. We had no idea how to
handle all that she was going through and how we could help her. The
only thing that came to my mind was to listen and help as I could and
to say a prayer. So we said a prayer of comfort for her. And After an
half an hour of walking around with her and hearing a lot of drama and
telling her Heavenly Father could help her all she has to do is pray,
we finally parted ways as we dropped her off at her home. Now we could
of turned around or easily just gone home to the apt at 8:40. Their
were so many other things we had to do. But we decided to take it on
faith. And God had delivered. What would've happened to that lady had
we not come in contact with her? If we had decided to give up for the
day and go home? I know that God is ever mindful of everyone.  Alma
26:37 "Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people,
whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his
bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my
great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever.
Amen." And it's on yours and his time that salvation comes to those in
need. We need to always be ready. Mosiah 27:36 "And thus they were
instruments in the hands of God in bringing many to the knowledge of
the truth, yea, to the knowledge of their Redeemer." We NEED to be The
Lord instruments. Always having  exceeding faith. You maybe someone's
way of connecting to The Lord. It is my knowledge and faith that we
need to always be sharing this gospel with others. Bringing them to
the LIGHT. Helping them in their times of need. Being that comfort and
friend to someone.

Oh how wonderful the plan of God is. How incredible and merciful God
has been to me. The tender mercies he has filled my heart with. The
joy that swells within my soul each and everyday. How beautiful his
plan is for families. He has poured his blessings out upon me. And
upon each of us. All we have to do is open the window and let them in.
I feel a great gratitude towards my Father in Heaven. Who has blessed
me beyond belief. With a wonderful family. Who I can be with forever!
He has blessed me through many trials. He has blessed me with a loving
mother and father. Who raised me in the ways of The Lord. He has shown
me forgiveness.  I know that God loves me. That he loves all
of us. The he is a loving and caring God. And I will forever HOLD fast
to the iron rod. I will return to live with my Father in Heaven, With
my beautiful family. I know with my whole heart that this is Jesus
Christ's church. And I will forever praise his name.
